I’m so excited to tell you about this great author who writes fiction and non-fiction books for kids. His name is David A. Adler and you might be familiar with his Cam Jansen Mysteries. Mr. Adler has also written math books (he used to be a math teacher!), books about the holocaust and biographies. Remember, biographies are books about people’s lives. Find out some fascinating facts about famous people by checking out: A Picture Book of Eleanor Roosevelt, A Picture Book of George Washington, and A Picture Book of Anne Frank. You can learn more about this terrific author and his books at www.davidaadler.com How cool is that? When you discover some interesting information, be sure to tell me all about it…just click on the Comment link and blog me about what you’re reading! Happy

I had a SUPER time at the Texas Book Festival in Austin last weekend. I got to meet some terrific authors, read some fantastic books and have a GREAT time in Austin for Halloween. There were no "tricks" though, only "treats"--I even learned how to make a pop-up card! I got to have my books signed by Judy Schachner, Jon Scieszka, Mac Barnett, Brian Floca, Bruce Foster, and even Mo Willems (live via satellite!) You need to check out my pics http://www.professordewey.com/txbkfest.html And be sure to visit the author's websites, because they tell all about their books and have some really fun activities, too!
Happy Reading!

Two of my favorite non-fiction authors are Gail Gibbons and Seymour Simon. If you like reading-to-learn, you should check out these author's books! Seymour Simon uses awesome photographs and interesting facts about planets, animals, your body and more. Gail Gibbons uses drawings and neat illustrations to explain animals, weather, food and more! These authors also have terrific websites you can visit (see below.) When you've read one of these author's books, comment back to me about what you read and learned. Happy Reading!
